Alabama has a rich history in the genre of
gospel quartet music. A major portion of this history, however, has
been overlooked. Most importantly it is being lost. There are many
Alabamians who have sung and are singing with groups that travel the
highways and byways on a regular basis.
These National Groups are know by all those
who are true fans of this genre. There are many Alabama quartet groups
and group members that have come and gone. Their memories unfortunately
do not linger on. Unfortunately the "National Groups" get most of the
recognition, while the local or regional artists are left to fade into
obscurity.

Lord and Savior are hardly ever given their roses while they can yet
smell them.
How many are in your area? Are the groups in
your area known outside of your area? On any given weekend there are
gospel quartet concerts all over Alabama. Who are these Groups that are
so dedicated to their music ministry? Who are the members of these
Groups? Well lets answer some of these questions by YOU informing us of
the name and history of your gospel quartet group or groups in your
area. Let's not allow this genre to die. Let's record the history for
all to know. And let us not allow the memory of those that have given
so much to ever be forgotten.
